I. Introduction
A.Background
The 16th National Congress treats “more harmonious society” as one of the goals to build a moderately prosperous society .Mobilizing all positive factors to build a harmonious campus is just an important part of building a harmonious society. Harmonious campus, not only including the harmony of society and school, the harmony between human and the environment, but also the harmony of teachers and students, as well as the harmony among students.
B.Significance
Harmonious teacher-student relationship is beneficial to the development of physical and mental health of students and teachers, and it is also beneficial to the cultivation of students’ healthy personality. It is good for a class to establish a good style of study. And it is beneficial to the improvement of efficiency of classroom teaching. And it is also favourable to exert the student ingenuity. Imparting knowledge channels constantly broadened, but the door of the feelings is narrowing, this is not an alarmist.
II.Characteristics of Students in Junior High School English teaching
A.Strong plasticity
Junior high school students are in the beginning stage of learning English, so they have strong plasticity. The age of junior high school students is between l2 and l6 years old. It is not only a stage of rapid growth of the students’ body but also a great shaping period for their worldview, values and learning ability. In many ways, the junior high school students are just like a piece of white paper that needs to be portrayed under guidance of teacher.
B.Strong performance desire
The Modern Psychological research shows that: everyone has a desire to express himself, especially junior high school students. Everyone has their own characteristics which is different from the others. Junior high school students are very young, their curiosity and thirst for knowledge are strong. They like to express themselves in the classroom, but their self-control ability is poor, and their attention is easily dispersed.
III.Disharmonious factors between teachers and students in Junior High School
English teaching
A.English teachers’ evaluation methods affect Junior High School Students
In Junior English teaching, schools overemphasize teachers’ evaluation on students. How to evaluate students and from which aspects to evaluate students is decided by English teachers. Students can not express their views. What’s more, they can not participate in evaluation activities in principal’s identity. English teachers one-sided emphasize on the academic performance of students in English.
B.English teachers and students do not have equal dialogue
English teachers can not put down their identities. They can not make equality, democracy dialogue with students. Students are often regarded as English teaching object, and knowledge container. English teachers are the subject of teaching, copier and disseminators of knowledge. From the concept of traditional education of teacher-student relationship, the teacher-student relationship is a mentoring relationship, just like the relationship between the father and the son, and the relationship between the elder and younger, the relationship between subject and object, relationship of command and obedience, the relationship between teaching and being taught.
IV.Ways to establish harmonious relationship between teachers and students in Junior High School English teaching
A.Create a good teaching environment
Former Soviet educator Bahkob said: “we must strive to make learning full of unfettered atmosphere, so students and teachers in the classroom are able to breathe freely. If you can not bring up the teaching atmosphere, any kind of teaching methods are unlikely to play role”. 3Learning environment affects on the improvement of students’ learning interest. In the teaching process,English teachers should enthusiastically threw themselves into the normal teaching activities, and master teaching rhythm. They should use a variety of methods to constantly stimulate students’ learning potential.
B.Enrich English Teachers’ teaching methods
English teachers constantly transform English teaching methods which will help to stimulate students’ interest in learning. Therefore, teachers should take different approaches to teach students in accordance of their aptitude, combining with reality, Teachers can stimulate students’ interest through “stimulated interest method”, “scenario method”. This can help teachers enrich teaching methods, and can fully mobilize the students’ enthusiasm for learning, and improve the efficiency of junior high school English teaching.
V. Conclusion
Junior high school classroom English teaching should pay attention to the junior high school students’ emotion, and understand students’ hobbies. They should focus on teaching interesting and diversity, and stimulate the enthusiasm of students of different levels of learning, improve the learning of all students’ enthusiasm. Only in this way can it build efficient classroom teaching. Building a harmonious relationship between teachers and students requires English teachers to position themselves in the teaching process.
In short, in junior high school English classroom teaching, building a harmonious relationship between teachers and students needs both efforts. I believe that the constructing of a harmonious relationship between teachers and students will be issued a strong educational energy. In the end, it promotes the continuous improvement of the effectiveness of education.
